Making a living off of photography takes a lot of hard work and dedication. Not only do you have to take outstanding photographs, but you need to know how to market yourself to find work as well.

As a former car consultant, Jason Grzesik has always had a passion for cars. He translates his hobby into the form of photography and enjoys documenting the excitement of car culture through his own lens. Today he shares some questions to ask yourself – the answers you come up with will better help you market yourself as a car photographer.

  1. Who is the target audience for my photography? Who will use these photographs, and what will they use them for?
  2. What makes my photographs different from other people’s photographs? Why would someone hire me over someone else?
  3. How can I reach a wider audience online? Is my website optimized to display my photography? Can I build a presence on social media?
  4. What car shows and other events are in my area for me to network at?
  5. Am I displaying my best work in my portfolio?
